Activating your license (Mac)
Open Owlish, go to Settings → License, paste the key from your confirmation email and click Activate. Lost the email? Write to us from your purchase address and we'll resend it. To cancel a subscription, use the link in your Stripe receipt or email us.
Choosing an AI provider
Owlish never picks one for you. On the Mac, open Settings → AI Providers; on iPhone, Settings → AI provider. Choose Apple Intelligence to keep everything on your device (on supported devices), or a cloud provider and paste your own API key from it. You pay the provider directly.
Pairing your iPhone or iPad with your Mac
On the Mac, open Settings → iPhone (Owlish), turn on connections and choose Pair an iPhone. On the iPhone, open Settings → Your Mac and scan the code. Keep both on the same Wi-Fi. The code works once, for five minutes. If they stop finding each other, pair again.
A video won't import or transcribe
Videos with captions come in fastest. Videos without them are transcribed on your Mac, which needs Microphone and Speech Recognition access under System Settings → Privacy & Security. Very long videos are sampled in sections unless you ask for the full length.
Recording a lecture (iPhone)
Owlish needs the camera and microphone (Settings → Owlish). Audio-only recording keeps going with the screen locked; filming needs the app open, because iOS stops the camera in the background.
Where is my library? (Mac)
In ~/Library/Application Support/Owlish. Settings → Storage shows how much
space each part uses.
Using AI tools like Claude Code (Mac)
In Settings → Agents (MCP), add Owlish's built-in server to Claude Code in one click, or copy its settings into Cursor or another MCP client. It runs only on your Mac.
